I can't even believe it!! I am done with all my nursing classes and moving onto my preceptorship. And yes I got a A :) I have put in my request to go pediatrics (Neonatal ICU, pediatric med/surg or pediatric ER) so we will see if I secure it. I will not know until around the time the quarter starts in the middle of September. There was many times during my nursing school I just wanted to give up and quit like the time 4th quarter when I sat through a ER routine saying to myself, "wt heck am I doing here". I also about gave up the ghost during 2nd quarter when I just couldn't work/take care of 5 kids properly and go to school full time all at once. I was getting pressure from outside sources that I wasn't doing enough and maybe I should quit. BUT instead I quit my job, went part time and its been a little easier since.
I am now waiting on a list with my kids school district to become part of their staff as a school nurse. They are waiting for me to graduate and pass my state boards. Yes not a glamorous job at all but its a good place to be with 5 kids, wanting summers off, and a good schedule were my kids will not be impacted. Other opportunities I have will be in a woman's fertility clinic working part time, we will see if that pans out.

Congrats, Kari. I am impressed with how many times you mentioned your 5 kids as a priority. You're amazing and your husband and kids are very lucky to have you!!! Good job!
