The Family....

I was inspired tonight to write in my blog on the topic of families. Its amazing how sometimes we put things before our families. I will be the first to confess that I am not innocent in that department either. But then when it comes right down to it would we give up everything for our families. YES we would. Why do we wait until the "come right down to it" to actually put our families first. I mean we cant take our things, such as housed, toys, and money. The only thing we can take and will have to answer for in heavens is how we treated our spouses, kids, family and friends. We take with us families. We will see and meet our families again.

I relate this all to the proclamation the church put out back in 1995. The Family: A proclamation to the World helps us know why we are here, and what is important. It comes right down to family. We do what we can to save our families. The lord asks us to do this. One line stuck out for me in this proclamation, it states, "Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets". I am a firm believer of this statement. We are already seeing the disintegration of families around us. Divorce rates are very high, children are being raised by single parents, abuse, and neglect are some of the many problems in this society. But what happens to a society inflicted with these pains, anguish and hurts? Degradation of true principles and values, and turning away from what is most important.

Here are a few great messages that I found that speaks of the Proclamation to the family in regards to marriage.

I love this one to by our dear Prophet, Thomas S Monson.. I try to live my life by this messages..although It can be hard sometimes...

What more can I say...watching these 2 videos tells it all. What my heart tells me and why I was inspired to write tonight so late. Maybe we seek for those things that matters most.

night...kari
