Childhood Journals Part 1

I thought it would be cool to start transcribing my journals from when I was a kid into this blog. The journal I wrote in is falling apart and so rewriting it gives me 2 purposes: preserve my childhood memories and so you see the Little Kari I was. :) I journalled way back then..first entry was in 1984. I'm transcribing how I wrote it so you will see all the grammar errors. lol..

October 1st, 1984

Today I went to school and I worked. I first had Creative Writing and the I had reading and then I had spelling and then I had recess, work time, lunch, math, social studies, and we were going to have science. I like science, reading, spelling, social studies, math, recess, lunch, work time and creative writing. I had a great time until I came home. I just hit Amy.... (i scratched out at this point so dont know what I said, although I can assume I said my sister was a curly locks or something like that. lol)

October 21, 1984

Today is Sunday and we had breakfast. We had King Vitamin and after breakfast we had tootsie Roll pop chocolate flavored and then I came into my room and write in my journal. And after I wrote in my journal I played, "My little pony show stable" Then I'm going to play barbies with Amy and I like playing it is fun to play. And after I got done playing barbies I would play babys. I like playing babys alot. And then I looked at my valentine cards. after I got done looking at my valintine card I would play games. I like sunday. After I get done playing games Im going to go to church. Love Kari Deanne Wendt

Shawn- He plays games with me and helps me!

Amy- She like to play with me and share with me!

Ryan- He's plays with me, he does what I say !! (haha thats funny I said that lol)

Brendan- He does what I say, and he plays with me! (haha)

Kevin- He's the youngest one in the family and he is playful and cute and is loveable!


October 23, 1984

Titled: Animals

Today I went to school and I had to do work. About 1100 one zookeeper from the Hogle zoo (in SLC Utah) came in and showed us 3 animals., a snake, a parrot, a kinkachew. The snake: is not slimmy, has a lizard tongue and is a boa constrictor and we also saw a parrot. The parrot: beautiful colors, lives in South america. The Parrot can't talk. The kinkachew: Eats meat, fruit, vegetable, and it hang on it tail, tail is long, runs fast, and if it is lose from the cage it will wreck the room and whole house up in 5 minute flat. I like looking at the animals they are so interesting to me. I felt really happy today. My teacher is Mr. Upstill Love Kari Deanne Wendt

My family

I love my mom and dad because I think they are wonderful

Something I like about my dad an mom.

Mom-
I love my mo m because she cares about us. She cooks for us, have family home evening with us, she loves us and lot of things.

Dad-
I love my dad because he cares about us, have family home evening with us, he loves us and lots of things.


Wow a kid is redundant at this age lol.. It so funny to see what I thought about back then. I was so thoughtful even way back at the age of 10. lol..

Anyways I'll save more for another day.

Actually I will write two more that are very short..


October 26, 1984

Titled: Angela's Birthday

Today I went to Angela's birthday party. It was alot of fun. An we hade a sleep over and Angela got a tape recorder and tapes and me and angela recored us and then we listened to it, and we recorded songs. Then when we were talking. I felt realy good. Love, Kari Wendt

October 28, 1984

Titled: Sunday

Today is a special day becauses it's sunday. I learned something good. I learned about prayer and what the proper name for your and stuff like that. You, yours them in prayer..
